4 Ways to Celebrate Las Vegas PRIDE 15 Oct, 2018
4 Ways to Celebrate Las Vegas PRIDE
Are you ready for an all-out celebratory extravaganza this weekend?
If not, it’s time to get ready. Because Las Vegas PRIDE 2018 is officially here!
In addition to the ever-popular PRIDE parade, the Southern Nevada Association of PRIDE (SNAPI) is hosting a number of amazing events this weekend, so we expect to see members and allies of the LGBT community out in full force!
Here are four ways you can celebrate Las Vegas PRIDE 2018!
1. Get Tickets to See Blame it on Bianca Del Rio
October 18th
Drag queen, comedian, actor, and costume designer Bianca Del Rio is performing at the Zumanity Theatre inside the New York-New York Hotel and Casino.
By her own admission, she is the expert on nothing with an opinion on EVERYTHING. But we think she’s being humble, given the fact that she was the season six winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Come check out her show and be prepared for an evening of sharp wit and laughter!
And after the show, join her at 10 PM for the show after-party at Hamburger Mary’s!
2. Las Vegas PRIDE Night Parade
October 19
On the evening of October 19, downtown Las Vegas will be transformed into the most “glamorous, glittering spectacle ever created by the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community of Southern Nevada!”
Those are the words used by SNAPI to describe their 21st annual PRIDE Night Parade, presented by MGM Resorts International.
Sounds good to us!
The parade will feature gay and straight members of the business community, non-profits organizations, LGBT service agencies, civic groups, churches, and SNAPI royalty. Show up early in order to get a good spot!
- At 6:45 pm, there’s a parade pre-show at the main stage (on Bridger Avenue, two blocks south of Fremont Street), followed by the parade which begins at 8 pm.
- The parade route starts at Gass Avenue and goes north along 4th street to Ogden Avenue.
- There’s a competition for parade entries. Categories include best walking entry, vehicles, and floats.
3. Glampyres PRIDE Parade After-Party
October 19
Once the parade is over, if you’ve still got some life left in you, head over to the Orleans Arena for the Glampyres PRIDE Parade After-Party!
The late night shindig will feature Erika Jayne from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” and it’ll be hosted by Morgan McMichael’s from “RuPau’s Drag Rage.” Special guest appearances from Nina Sky, Dev, Chris Cox, and DJ CO1!
4. Las Vegas PRIDE Festival
October 20-21
This two-day outdoor PRIDE celebration will take place at Sunset Park and will have more than 100 exhibitors, a food court, a drink station, featured performers, and local talent. There will also be designated areas for kids and pets so that your entire family can join in on the fun!
