What is Full-Spectrum Hemp Oil and Its Benefits 13 May, 2020

What is Full-Spectrum Hemp Oil and Its Benefits

Essence - May 13, 2020/in Blog Essence /by [email protected]

What Is Full Spectrum Hemp Oil And Its Benefits

There’s a lot of buzzes out there about hemp oil and, specifically, full-spectrum hemp oil. If you’ve done any research on the hemp oil, you’ve probably seen people touting the benefits of full-spectrum hemp oil. Many people believe that it provides more benefits than other types of hemp oil. That is the reason that it is often highly recommended. But what exactly is full-spectrum hemp oil? And why would it be better than another type of hemp oil, such as broad-spectrum hemp oil or CBD isolate hemp oil? Below, we’re answering these questions and more as we go over everything you need to know about it and its benefits.

What Is Full-Spectrum Hemp Oil?

cannabis

Full-spectrum hemp oil is an oil that has been extracted from the hemp cannabis plant. This specific type of It is called “full-spectrum”. The reason is that it contains the full spectrum of beneficial compounds that exist within the hemp plant. Hemp plants contain a variety of different cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. Some types of hemp oil don’t contain all of these compounds, but full-spectrum hemp oil does.

The Advantages and Benefits of Full-Spectrum Hemp Oil

The advantages and dissadvantages of hemp oil

It’s advantageous to use it because it contains all of the beneficial compounds within the hemp plant, including a wide range of cannabinoids. Many people who use full-spectrum hemp oil choose it specifically for its wide range of cannabinoids. The reason is that the cannabinoids within hemp oil are thought to provide many benefits.

Cannabinoids are organic compounds that exist within the hemp plant. Some examples of cannabinoids that are present within the hemp plant include cannabidiol (CBD), cannabigerol (CBG), and cannabichromene (CBC). When you take in cannabinoids, they interact with your endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a naturally occurring system within the body. It helps to regulate many processes within the body. Examples could be a pain, mood, stress, sleep, and appetite. When the cannabinoids within a hemp oil interact with your ECS, it’s thought that they can provide a variety of different benefits. While the research on hemp cannabinoids and the ECS is still in its infancy. Some early research suggests that hemp cannabinoids may help ease the pain. It can promote a healthier sleep cycle, boost mood, ease stress, and more.

So, essentially, the cannabinoids within full-spectrum hemp oil are thought to have a variety of different benefits. CBD is the most prevalent cannabinoid within full-spectrum hemp oil. Since CBD is present in high concentrations within the hemp cannabis plant. And the potential health benefits of CBD are very well-known. The CBD content within hemp oil is often the main reason people use it. But even if you only want the benefits of CBD from your hemp oil, you may want to consider choosing a full-spectrum oil because of something called the entourage effect.

The entourage effect is the idea that cannabinoids work together synergistically within the endocannabinoid system. According to this theory, the presence of multiple cannabinoids within hemp can enhance the effects of all of the cannabinoids within that hemp, including CBD. While there have been very few scientific studies on the entourage effect. This theory is supported by a small body of research. And, then, there’s a lot of anecdotal evidence from hemp and cannabis users that supports this theory. Many people say that they notice a difference when using a hemp product that contains multiple cannabinoids versus a product that contains only CBD isolate.

Full-Spectrum Hemp Oil vs. Other Types of Hemp Oils

So, it contains the full spectrum of beneficial compounds within the hemp plant, including CBD and a variety of other cannabinoids. But what’s in your other hemp oil options? Below, we’ll go over what you should know about three other common types of hemp oil: broad-spectrum hemp oil, CBD isolate hemp oil, and hemp seed oil.

Broad-Spectrum Hemp Oil

Broad Spectrum Hemp Oil 1

Broad-spectrum hemp oil is very similar to full-spectrum hemp oil. The reason is that it contains a broad range of beneficial compounds within the hemp plant. But there’s one notable difference between broad-spectrum and full-spectrum hemp oils. That difference is that all traces of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) have been removed from broad-spectrum hemp oil.

Full-spectrum hemp oil can contain tiny, trace amounts of THC. It can contain a maximum of 0.3% THC, which is a minute amount that will not cause any psychoactive effects. Many people consider this trace amount of THC beneficial. Though you won’t feel any psychoactive effects from trace amounts of THC, it’s theorized that even trace amounts of THC can help with the entourage effect and improve the effectiveness of cannabinoids like CBD. However, if you don’t want to have even trace amounts of THC in your hemp oil, broad-spectrum hemp oil is a great option. Broad-spectrum hemp oil will have a wide range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, but it won’t contain any THC.

CBD Isolate Hemp Oils and Products

CBD isolate products contain only CBD isolate and no other cannabinoids. It is obtained by extracting the CBD from a hemp plant, which results in a crystalline extract. CBD isolate products have been infused with this isolated CBD extract. You’ll find many products that contain this isolated extract, including oils.

Many people do not feel that CBD isolate products are as effective as full-spectrum hemp oils. As they don’t contain the same full-spectrum of beneficial compounds from the hemp plant. However, at the end of the day, whether or not you would prefer a full-spectrum hemp oil or a CBD isolate product comes down to personal preference. If you want to use a product that contains a wide range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids, you’d prefer full-spectrum hemp oil. But if you want to use a product that contains only CBD, a CBD isolate product could be perfect for you.

Hemp Seed Oil

It’s very important for consumers to understand the difference between full-spectrum hemp oil and hemp seed oil. These two things have similar names– but they’re extremely different. It contains the full spectrum of compounds within hemp, including CBD. The reason is that it is extracted from all of the parts of the hemp plant. Hemp seed oil, on the other hand, is made solely from the seeds of hemp plants, which contain little to no cannabinoids. So, hemp seed oil will have little to no CBD.

Hemp seed oil can be great for your health. The reason is that it contains essential fatty acids and a range of vitamins and minerals. However, it’s not a CBD product. So if you’re looking for hemp oil that contains CBD and/or other cannabinoids, the hemp seed oil is not the product for you.

The Difference Between Full-Spectrum Hemp Oil and Marijuana Oil

The differences between Full Spectrum Oil And Marijuana

There’s one more type of product we want to compare with it: marijuana oil. Marijuana oils are also commonly called marijuana tinctures, cannabis tinctures, or cannabis oils. Like full-spectrum hemp oils, marijuana oils can contain a wide range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. But marijuana oils are made from marijuana plants, not hemp plants. And this means that marijuana-derived oils or tinctures can sometimes contain high amounts of THC.

Hemp plants and marijuana plants are both cannabis plants. But, legally, a hemp plant can never contain more than 0.3% THC. So, hemp plants (and the products made from them) can only contain trace amounts of THC. Which will not cause psychoactive effects. On the other hand, marijuana plants can contain any amount of THC, including very high amounts of THC. The THC content of a marijuana tincture or oil depends on the specific tincture or oil.

It’s important to understand the difference between full-spectrum hemp oils and marijuana-derived oils for two reasons. The potential for psychoactive effects and legality. Full-spectrum hemp oil will not have psychoactive effects, but marijuana-derived oils sometimes do. Then, it is derived from the industrial hemp plant. Which means it’s legal on a federal level within the United States. Marijuana oils or tinctures, on the other hand, are derived from marijuana plants. So they’re only legal in states that have legalized medical or recreational marijuana.

If you’re looking for a full-spectrum CBD product, both full-spectrum hemp oils and full-spectrum marijuana-derived oils could be good options. But it’s important to understand what each of these things is in order to choose the option that’s right for you.
