Headaches are more common than the common cold! We get them when we’re stressed out, dehydrated, don’t get enough sleep, etc.

Typical headaches like these can often be treated using over-the-counter medication such as aspirin, acetaminophen, or ibuprofen.

But another type of headache — migraines — are in a class all their own.

Migraine sufferers experience severe throbbing pain, usually on one side of the ahead, along with the following symptoms:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Sensitivity to light / sound

A migraine attack can last anywhere from hours to days.

Researchers at the University of Colorado conducted a clinical study involving 121 adults who used medical cannabis to treat their migraines. The results were as follows:

  • Migraine frequency dropped from 10.4 to 4.6 headaches per month
  • 40% experienced fewer migraines – and in some cases zero migraines – after smoking.

If you suffer from migraines, medical cannabis might be a viable treatment option. You should consult with your doctor about your migraines before beginning any cannabis treatment regiment.

In our blog post about migraines, we recommended strains like Blue Dream, Sour Diesel, and Pineapple Express for relief.

You can experiment with these strains to see if they work for you, or you can consult with one of our dispensary consultants to learn about other beneficial products.
