Stress is a natural response to a perceived threat. A moderate amount of stress can actually be good for us; it can improve our memory and our ability to complete tasks.

But chronic stress is not good for us, especially if it interferes with our capacity to lead happy, productive lives.

Too much stress can also lead to health problems such as high blood pressure, headaches, heart palpitations, and insomnia.

Can cannabis help reduce stress?

A study conducted by the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Chicago, IL found that people who took low doses of cannabis – 7.5 mg of THC – experienced less stress than those who took a placebo or a moderate dose of cannabis (12.5 mg of THC).

The key takeaway here is that low doses of cannabis seem to be more effective at combating stress than high doses.

With this in mind, you may want to try easily-dividable, dose-friendly edibles or cannabis pill capsules because it’ll be easier to control the exact dosage.

However, be advised that while cannabis can help lower stress, it should not be considered a cure-all.

If you really want to reduce the amount of stress in your life, we recommend using cannabis in addition to other remedies such as exercise, relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, guided meditation, yoga, and recreational activities.
